A greyhound named "Mick the Miller" proved to be much faster than a horse in a 1927 race in Sydney, Australia. Mick the Miller was a famous English racing greyhound known for his speed and dominance on the track.
All dogs can run fast but the Greyhound is probably the fastest, which is why there are greyhound dog-racing tracks similar to horse-racing tracks.
They were bred together and made a faster horse.
no a horse i tranned to race fast yes.(:
faster than a race horse
greyhound greyhound
Well actually the greyhound is the fastest dog going at 45mph while the fastest horse only goes at the speed of 40mph.
A cheetah is faster.
It would be tight. But I'd bet on the QH. QHs have a record 57 mph, while most greyhounds have only 45 mph. No guarentee, though. The horse might trip, the dog get a short-cut, or te people organising the race tilt the finish line to the greyhound's side. ; ) : P
They all actually run at about the same speed. A Greyhound will sprint at speeds of 39 to 43 MPH for a distance of 440 to 660 yards. A European brown hare can sprint at speeds of 45 MPH for about the same distance as a Greyhound. A racehorse can gallop at speeds of 40 to 50 MPH for 440 yards to 2 miles.
Maybe for a short period of time.
