Soccer standings are determined by a points system, where teams earn points for wins, draws, and losses. Teams are ranked based on the total points they have accumulated throughout the season. In most leagues, teams are ranked first by points, then by goal difference, and finally by goals scored. The team with the most points at the end of the season is typically crowned the league champion.

In the NFL, teams are ranked in the standings based on their win-loss record. The team with the most wins is ranked higher than teams with fewer wins. In case of a tie, other factors like head-to-head record, divisional record, and strength of schedule are considered to determine the rankings. The top teams in each division make the playoffs, along with a few wild card teams with the best records.
