All NFL players have a definite skill set. Some have an abundance of skills in one area while others appear to have no weaknesses at all. If you have a solid mix of these skills, you could make an NFL squad one day.
Athletic Considerations1. Scouts look to see if you are tall (typically at least 6 feet). They will look to see if you have soft hands to catch the ball and will test your leaping ability. You'll have to run the 40-yard dash; 40 yards in about 4 seconds is considered a good time. Mental Toughness2. Football can be brutally disappointing. You need to be able to put traumatic events--an injured teammate or narrow defeat--behind you quickly and focus on the next game. Playing Experience3. You must have played before in college or an independent league. Previous experience is necessary to understand complex schemes and plays. Considerations4. Each NFL hopeful must complete an intelligence test administered by the league. The Wonderlic test measures aptitude, and scores are considered alongside physical attributes and moral fiber. Size5. Your weight will also be considered depending upon your position. Linemen are heavier than quarterbacks ; your weight could be over 200 lbs. or just under 400 lbs. Education6. Most NFL prospects have spent time in a Division 1 college program. It proves they were able to survive the rigors of a demanding class schedule.a positive attitude
