On August 26th, 2005, the legendary Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia ran 26:17.53 in the 10k (a little over 6.2 miles). Converted to 6 miles, this time equals about 25:23.27

In the 1980's while in my 20's I ran 6 miles every day always trying to better my time. No idea of the world's record, but after always coming in second to the fastest runner in high school. Unofficially my best time was 4 min. miles for all 6 miles 24:0
