It hurts as much as a thick rubber band snap to the neck, but wherever you get hit. If you are wearing at least one layer of clothing, the pain is easily bearable. foam protectors and heavy clothing, while protective, make you slow and loud, and will get you labeled a "wussy."

Paintball, as a fact does not hurt. When you get hit in a round you go to a safe net and you get a chance to recover. If you play speedball it will hurt more than woodsball. Personally I prefer beginers to play woodsball.
Yes, getting hit with a paintball can be painful and even leave bruises. Be sure to always wear proper safety gear to reduce the potential pain. Of course, if you don't get shot you won't get hurt.
Assuming you play at a regulated field with experienced Referees, most fields require that each marker gets "Chronographed" or Chrono'd before play. The chrono will tell the referee how fast the gun is shooting in "Feet per Second"s and will then make adjustments to the marker. Most fields only allow 280fps or lower. This will insure that everyones markers are shooting at a competitive and yet safe limit. A Chrono'd gun will feel like a small pinch when you get shot as opposed to the ridiculous and scary results you see on YouTube from kids playing in their backyards with no chrono available. I used to tell first timers that it only hurts enough to remind you to duck next time!
Yes If you have body armor, WEAR IT!
And usually there is a disclaimer that is accepted by patrons of paintball places that implies the user can't hold the park/facility liable for personal damages/injuries.
Yes but not very bad. Its a stinging sensation that hurts for a few seconds, then quits. Like getting popped with a towel or something. Usually you will have welts or small bruises
It won't hurt too bad as long as you have a few layers on. I found that it stings more the moment you get shot and then it hurts if its touched the next few days.
If you are wearing the necessary gear, well no. But without it, it's as if someone with big hands slapped you. ( It's kinda fun though once you get used to the pain, like undergoing through a rite-of -passage......ouch! at first....yeah !! after that...It may sound masochistic, but it's different really...like your finally acquired the discipline to handle pain...just a personal note). But please, as it is with all weapons, handle it with safety in mind. Anyway it does really hurt (and badly if you are hit in delicate places), causes some bruises if shot at very short distances but nothing serious. Please don't shoot at the face, paint though not necessarily toxic can hurt like hell.
A paintball chronographed at 290 FPS from about thirty feet will hurt about as much as a thick rubber band snap on the neck, except for anywhere you get hit. You can reduce the pain buying a chest and back protector, wearing extra layers of clothes and gloves and establishing a minimum shooting distance.
The guns themselve will not harm you. Unless you fall on it or something along that nature. The paintballs that they shoot however can leave a welt or a bruise. Though it is often compared to a bee sting. Though while playing, you usually do not notice it.
Its comparable to being hit with a thick rubber band and sometimes it might leave a welt or bruise.
