I'm on a track team so... I suggest that when you have a track meet, stretch ALOT. Yes, running is always important, but you do want to stay as loose as possible. I run 4 miles every day. Though I'm not a long distance runner, it deffinately gets you ready for the big day. Do whatever is most comfortable and I'm sure that you'll do well.

If you have a big garden you can try running around it 5 times then have a break then 5 more times then a break and so .Then the next day you can run around it 10 times then have a break and so on or if you dont have a garden or its not big you can run around a park 5 times like before
