∙ 15y ago7 8 9 52 ************* The above answer (7, 8, 9, 52) is wrong because you can not measure for example 80 kg (since 7+8+9+52=76), nor 79 kg, 78 kg and so on. Actually, using a two disc balance and four weights (1, 3, 9, and 27) , you can ONLY measure from 1 to 40 kg (increase by 1) Using a two disc balance and FIVE weights (1, 3, 9, 27 and 81) , you can measure up to 121 kg. Ifyou want to measure up to 80 kg with four weight, you should either start from a number higher than 1, or increase the numbers by 2.

you need just 6 weights... 1, 3, 5, 29, 81 and 243
because there is a different amount of air in them.
"Metric" is a whole system of weights and measurements. Many different devices are used to measure things in the system.
Pounds measure weight, and liters measure volume, so they do not have a fixed ratio. You need to know what liquid you are measuring, as different liquids have different weights and densities.

A litre is about 1.056688 US quarts. A litre, which is a measure of volume can be converted to other volume measures, but a litre of different substances will have different weights owing to different densities.
Although the curlers make it look effortless, the curling stones must weigh between 38 to 44 pounds.

Different applications and engines require different weights of oil to operate properly and prevent engine wear. Therefore different weights of oil are produced.
