However, the weights you're applying them to cannot be rubber coated, or finished with anything else than blueing/paint/bare metal, &the metal must be prepared first. Here are the steps:1) thoroughly clean them and remove ALL wax, dirt or grime 2) using a rough grit sandpaper, completely sand them down to scratch up the existing paint or metal 3) wipe them down with a rag & paint thinner to completely remove all dust & sanding particles 4) apply Herculiner as directed. Also, make sure you only apply the Herculiner to the weights themselves, as Herculiner will not stick to the stainless steel bars.
