Phar Lap He was born in Australia and one of Australia's most famous horses.
Secretariat/Red
He was nicknamed Big Red due to the color of his hair and the his size (he grew to reach 16 hands high).
Big Red, a Disney film based on the novel by Jim Kjelgaard, is about a Dog, not a Horse. It is possible the name may have been applied to the Race Horse, Secretariat but as a film title- Big Red is Canine, not Equine! The Dog was being trained for some type of sporting competition, though. It was produced by Walt Disney sometime in the early fifties. There was a shot of a Diesel Locomotive at high speed on a branch line near the farm, evidentally- but this played no role in the plot. It is odd how they sneaked it in.
There is no major pool player that is nicknamed the Red Widow.
