Gypsy Vanner Horses are cart horses. They have good temperaments but are big! They are good for inexperienced riders but I would personally recommend a Quarter Horse. I grew up riding them since I was 3 and they are still my favorite. Goodluck :)

There are actually very few riders/dolls compared to the horses. Breyer tends to focus on finding more horses than riders. In the major equestrian world, there are few African American champions. Breyer has to agree to the majority of the riders in the world.But you never know, they might make more dolls soon!
the beginner rider should be riding a beginner level horse. a beginner horse should be able to go in a snaffle. our beginnger horses go in a full cheek copper twist or a snaffle double jointed
