What are the three races in the Kentucky Derby?
"The Kentucky Derby" aka Run for the Roses- This race is the first leg and is 1 and 1/4 mile long (the shortest race of the three.) It is held at the The Kentucky Church Hill Downs Thoroughbred track in Louisville, Kentucky."The Preakness Stakes" aka Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown- The Preakness is the second leg of the Triple Crown and is held 2 weeks after the Kentucky Derby and is ran at Pimlico Thoroughbred track in Baltimore, Maryland. The horses must run 1 and 3/16 of a mile."The Belmont Stakes" aka The Final Jewel- This race is the third and final leg, and also the longest race any horse will ever run, a full 1 and 1/2 mile. This race is ran at Belmont Park.In order for any horse to win the "Triple Crown" he must finish first place in all three races.
