The price of a Sheridan mint julep cup can vary based on factors such as size, material, and design. On average, you might expect to pay anywhere from $50 to several hundred dollars for a quality cup. Specialty or limited edition cups can be even more expensive. It's best to check with specific retailers or auction sites for the most accurate pricing.

A mint julep is made with bourbon, sugar, water, and mint leaves, while a mojito is made with rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint leaves. The mint julep is traditionally served over crushed ice in a silver or pewter cup, while the mojito is served over ice in a highball glass. The mint julep has a stronger bourbon flavor with a hint of mint, while the mojito is more refreshing with a balance of mint, lime, and rum flavors.
Most recipes recommend using fresh spearmint for a mint julep, however it really depends on the drinker's taste for mint. A stronger mint flavor would require peppermint or chocolate mint. Milder flavors would go more with apple mint or one of the others like pineapple mint. However I would NOT recommend using lemon mint unless you like the smell of citronella.
I believe that's the date the William Kendrick and Sons was founded. My wife's great grandmother was married to a descendant of the founder.

To make homemade mint extract, combine 1 cup of fresh mint leaves with 1 cup of vodka in a glass jar. Seal the jar and let it sit in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking it occasionally. Strain out the mint leaves and store the extract in a sealed container.
I don't have the calorie information for Sheridan's, but plain frozen custard is 936 calories per quart (which is a lot). The toppings add just about as many calories as the custard; for instance, when I go to Sheridan's I get a quart of butterscotch. A cup of butterscotch syrup is about 900 calories, and they probably put about half a cup in a quart. So in this case, the toppings make up half of the total calories for the dessert (total calories = 1500).
