Big Red gum by wrigley
Nicotine Gum
Probably Wrigley's Juicy Fruit chewing gum. However, if Wrigley's Big Red gum came out in the sixties that would be my choice. Note: Wrigley's Big Red gum hit the scene in 1975, as Wrigley's first cinnamon gum. Big Red has been the number one cinnamon gum since 1987 and is available in the U.S., Germany, and Canada.
Yes!
Big Red lasts longer.
Fruit Stripe or Big Red
The scientific name for the red river gum tree is Eucalyptus camaldulensis.
Big Red Gum was released by the William Wrigley Jr. Company in 1976, 3 years after the race horse "Secretariat" had won the Triple Crown. It was a common practice at that time for candy to bear the name of famous people. (Remember the ongoing advertisement with all the Olympians on the front of the Total cereal box?) The horse's nickname was "Big Red" & it had stamina. In their jingle for Big Red gum, the Wrigley company mentions how it has "long-lasting freshness"...a kind of 'candy stamina' , if you will. The time tables are right & so it is my firm belief that the gum was named after the horse....& it would certainly make since as both did, indeed, live up to their reputation for stamina!!
