Tidal waves are not used to generate electricity. A tidal wave is a huge wave, rather like a tsunami, that occurs very infrequently, and without warning.

Tides are harnessed to produce electricity, and also waves are used, but not tidal waves.

He even used this technology to produce a Mass Scale Tesla Coil which produce so violent electricity that it destroyed a huge plot of land. This came to be known as the Death Ray. But it is a marvelous invention.
