There really is not anything wrong with having sports teams, in fact having sports can instill some important values in children if the priorities are right. For example, putting teamwork and having fun above winning the game, allowing all the children to play in the games regardless of how good or bad they play, and above all, keeping sports secondary to academics.
yes its good that we have sports teams in elementary schools because kids focus more and pay more attention to the teacher and it doesn't just benefit the kids it also benefits the teachers by less fidgeting in class and less fooling around
schools have sports logos because their sports teams are representing their school. Sports logos are mainly the same logo as the school logo. It is mainly to look good!

Competition between teams from different schools is called intermural sports and competition between teams from the same school is called intramural sports.
They shouldn't because cheerleading is very dangerous.
No! You certainly don't! Children nowadays are starting cheerleading from being a toddler. Cheerleaders cheer for teams, elementary schools don't have them. You may be able to start in middle school if they have sports.
Some boarding schools have nationally ranked sports teams, and many boarding school students are recruited to play sports in college.

To represent the school.
almost every one
it depneds on the school's budget and financial status. If the school is very keen on funding sports and sports equitment to the school, then chances are they are going to have more sports. some schools however may not have the time and money to provide to schools sporting teams. however i believe that schools should have alot of sports team's for exercise and fun.
