Originally, the Horseshoe was finished in 1922 just in time for the football season. The latest renovations were done during the 1999 and 2000 seasons and the Shoe was opened up again in 2001. The latest renovation or change to the stadium was in 2006 when the sod was torn up and turf was put down in its place.
