alot of money like 75k a year 475k my bad
is it fair for professional athletes receives such high salaries
500 million
In the world of sports, a professional is different from an amateur because they get paid. Professional athletes receive high salaries for their skills in a type of market system. Amateurs do not get paid, or very little, and need to find sponsors to help support them.
In Pointe Magazines February/ March 2010 there is an article about salaries and at the bottom of the page there is a grid showing the different salaries at different companies! :D
they dont care for the oldest sport in america and its such a highly skilled sport that the players dont deserve high salaries
Because they risk their body for our amusement
My question is,"If you took all professional athletes in every sport and combined their salaries, not bonuses, just salaries, and averaged them out for each athlete what would it be?
The salaries for players on the Cincinnati Red Stockings, the first professional baseball team, ranged from $800 to $1400 per year. In 1869, this was a good salary.
Higher salaries make players work harder to get even higher salaries.
The athletes are unpaid, minus the prize money they receive for winning medals. Outside of the Olympics the various athletes' professional annual salaries sum to over $9.
