Did you know that Everlast started out as a competition swimsuit company? Jacob Golomb began the Everlast company in 1910. In 1917, Golomb met boxer Jack Dempsey, who asked Golomb to make him protective headgear. Subsequently, Dempsey won the world's heavyweight championship in 1919 wearing the Everlast brand. After that win, Everlast Worldwide, Inc. was the go-to company for boxing gear. In 2000, Active Apparel Group acquired the Everlast company, but not for long. In 2007, Brands Holdings (UK) acquired the company.
