  • Roberto "Kitoy" Cruz is the most bemedalled Taekwondo player in international competition for the Philippines. He competed in the 1990s and was at the tail-end of a long illustrious career when he competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. (where Taekwondo first became a medal sport) This was before the onset of YouTube and Social Networking when very few videos were publicly shared. As such, a lot of the younger generation of Taekwondo Practitioners are unfamiliar with this player's many exploits. Long before John Paul "Japoy" Lizardo the Philippines was fortunate to have Roberto "Kitoy" Cruz. Listed are some of his international achievements:
    • 3 Time Silver Medalist - 12th, 13th & 14th - 1995, 1997 & 1999 World Taekwondo Championships
    • Bronze Medalist - 15th 2001 World Taekwondo Championships
    • Bronze Medalist - 1998 & 2001 World Cup Taekwondo Championships
    • 2 Time Silver Medalist - 11th, 12th: 1994, 1996 Asian Taekwondo Championships
    • 6 Time Gold Medalist - South East Asian Games (Biennial Games 1991-2001)
    • Monsour del Rosario (b. May 11, 1965) is a Filipino taekwondo champion who has also starred in several Filipino and international action films. He earned a gold medal in the 14th and 15th Southeast Asian Games (1987 & 1989).
    • Arnold Baradi- Gold Medalist = 6th Asian Taekwondo Championships (1984)
    • Arnold Ilagan Atienza (born September 29, 1972) (age 36) was appointed as Presidential Adviser on Youth Affairs by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2005. first gaining fame as a gold medalist for the Philippines taekwondo national team in the 1990s
    • Donald David Geisler III (born October 6, 1978) is a Filipino taekwondo athlete of German-American descent, who represented thePhilippines in the Olympics in the years 2000 and 2004. His last international bout was in 2005 Southeast Asian Games held in Pasay City, Philippines winning him a gold medal in the men's lightweight category.
