Choue Chung-won - On Tuesday, October 14, 2009, in Seoul, South Korea, the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) re-elected Choue Chung-won of South Korea as its president. The 62-year-old Choue won 104 votes out of 150 in an election held in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the federation's general assembly, to beat WTF vice president and IOC member Nat Indrapana of Thailand, who gained 45 votes. Choue was first elected to the top post of WTF in June, 2004, after his predecessor Kim Un-yong, also a South Korean, resigned from the post in January due to his involvement in a bribery scandal. Choue promised to make efforts to promote taekwondo as "a fair, interesting and exciting Olympic sport."
