What are sports hero's?

Sports people who have inspired other people to go do the sport that they are doing. Like Tom Daley has inspired loads of children to persue their sport because maybe they can be in the Olympics when they're fourteen as well. And then there are many more for each individual sport, which i cannot name, but if you like a sport and you started it because of someone on telly, they might be a sports hero, but it might just be you trying to be like your favourite character from a TV Show. Like lots of people play the saxophone because of Lisa Simpson, so some people might do loads of skateboarding because of Bart, or what ever else he does. So that's what i think the definition of Sports Hero's means, not just someone who's good at a sport, someone who's inspired you to get involved with the sport (and they can be the same thing, they can be good at the Sport and be a Sports Hero).

Is inspired a noun?

No, "inspired" is not a noun. It is a verb or an adjective.
