Shotokan Karate began in the 1930's when Gichin Funikoshi came to Japan to demonstrate Shorin Ryu Karate. As he taught the art in Japan, his students named the style after him, using his 'pen' name of Shoto. The roots of Shorin Ryu Karate go back many hundreds of years.

The first known karate demonstrations in the US were held in the Hawaiian territory in the 1930's. It was after World War 2 that American GI's brought the art back to the mainland. Karate came to the US about the same time as it came to Japan, in the early 1930's. Hawaii was the first place in the US that 'Gijin' saw what is known as karate demonstrations. It became much more popular as Soldiers that had become interested in it while stationed on Okinawa and in Japan learned it and brought it back. Judo was here in earlier. The first recorded karate classes in the US where held in Hawaii in the 1930's.
it was the back kick :)
It is a relapse if they go back to using drugs.

{| |- | The origins of karate are shrouded in the mist of time. The roots go back many hundreds of years. The Chinese came to Okinawa and brought with them kung fu. It was combined with the native art of Te and became karate. |}
Anything you do, if you dont practice it properly is hard on your back... everyaction as a reaction.. if you do physical activity such as karate.. then counter act it with yoga or pilaties to strenghten the musles to improve mobility and create harmony for your lingaments when they are bulking up and tighening. open and clear your mind when in combat. dont let anything distract you. so NO! karate is not hard on your back if you practise it well.
please can anyone help me
Immigrants from Japan and Okinawa first brought the art to Hawaii and California in the 1920's. The first recorded observation by non-Japanese was in 1932 in Hawaii. The American soldiers after World War II were introduced to Karate while stationed in Japan and Okinawa and brought back the arts to the US. It wasn't until the popularity of such shows as the Green Hornet that martial arts and karate really started to grow in the US.
Yes, Target does a standard urine test. They often do not give time for cleansing (if you do happen to be using anything). Some people have reported that Target has called them back and asked them to go take the test that day if they wanted the job.
