I think the theme is that the truth will set you free. Heide learnt that lies were senseless (etc) and by the end of the book she was told the truth about her life and where she had come from. Because of that she was set free and was able to live a better life. She also realized that the truth may not always be what you or others want to believe.

At fisrt she doens't understand, but by finishing and unfinished project of her brothers she thinks she has found closure. Thsi is like the main theme in the book, so yea! Closure can definately be a theme for a book.
