The hardest punch ever recorded or at least of what I know of was a 3150 psi strike that's about 221 kilogram-force per cm sq. The take into account the padded glove which absorbs much of the impact, and then the padded surface of the target and you end up with a number similar to that of an average man swinging a 20 lb sledge hammer with a surface area of about 9 square inches, with a velocity of about 60-70 mph. This is enough force to break any bone in the human body, even if it were safely hidden behind a cinder block

An average person is 60-85 PSI. From what I have read and seen,It takes about it takes 87-146 psi to break a jaw. Fight science had a test and the martial artist generated between 194 and 336 psi.Take the force and divide/Multiply by 7.73 and you get your psi/force.

Do you mean how much energy is in an average punch?

Take the weight of a fist & forearm & apply the Kinetic energy equation (k.e.=1/2mv^2)

That's half the mass (in Kg), multiplied by the velocity upon impact (in metres per second) squared.
