A rear naked choke is a submission hold which restricts the arteries in your neck to halt the flow of blood to the head, resulting in unconsciousness. The blood flow resumes once the hold is released.
The hold is performed by curling one arm around the neck, so the bicep and forearm are positioned over the arteries, and using the other arm to both secure the first arm (the hand of which grips your bicep) and to push the opponents head forwards into the hold.
A rear naked choke works by cutting off blood flow to the brain via the carotid arteries. The brain can last a maximum of 4 minutes without blood flow.

Very very painful and a rear naked choke is super scary but it is fun and a great stress reliever.
The average human can last around 10-20 seconds in a rear naked choke before losing consciousness. However, this can vary depending on factors such as the strength of the person applying the choke and the physical condition of the person being choked. It is important to release the chokehold immediately once the person taps out or signals distress.
