This really varies depending on what dojo you go to. Every dojo has it's own belt order, but many dojos follow this order:
white
yellow
orange
green
blue
purple
red
brown
black
Anyone can do martial arts if they have the physical ability, In my karate school we have a kid with downsyndrom who is a purple belt and only needs two more belts to become black. So practically anyone can do martial arts.
Honestly the best thing to do would be either to get a martial arts catalog (I prefer AWMA but Century would probably be easier to get) and order some from there or use Amazon. Using bath robes and cloth belts just looks dorky and unconvincing.
They are all martial arts from Asia. Kung fu is from China and karate is from Okinawa. Judo, kendo and aikido are Japanese.

No, I have not witnessed a karate chop neck knockout in a martial arts competition.
There are a number of items that can be used to display karate belts. Most are a sort of rack that the belts fit into them. Check a martial arts supply company online and you will find pictures and examples. They are fairly easy to make, and are fairly inexpensive.
Karate strengthens the muscles in your body. It strengthens both your arms and your legs. Karate is exactly the same as martial arts except martial arts is a more professional term.
There are many related martial arts. Karate is derived from Kung Fu, making it more of a child then a cousin. Karate has a number of related arts, including kobudo, judo, aikido and many of the Japanese martial arts.
