It is known that the WCW didn't know what to do with the Hitman character once he got there, except for a few good storylines that spawned some spectacular matches. In my opinion, the most spectacular were:
1998:
- Bret Hart vs Curt Hennig (at Uncensored);
- Bret Hart vs Randy Savage (at Slamboree);
- Bret Hart vs Diamond Dallas Page (1st US title match between them on Nitro);
- Bret Hart vs Hollywood Hogan (on Nitro - a very tense NWO setup);
- Bret Hart vs Sting - awesome lockerroom fight (on Monday Nitro);
1999:
- Bret Hart vs. Diamond Dallas Page (2nd US title match between them on Nitro);
- Bret Hart vs. Bill Goldberg in Toronto, Canada (unconcluded storyline, but good moment);
- Bret Hart vs. Chris Benoit (very spectacular Owen Hart tribute match on Nitro);
- Both WCW Mayhem PPV matches (vs Sting, vs Chris Benoit).
It stopped when Bret Hart went to WCW
Its really hard to say who is the best . bill goldberg .bret hart .ric flair .nwo hulk hogan .the giant/big show
yes,the day he beat Bret Hart 12 years from 2010.
bret hart was going to leave wwe for wcw but he didnt want to drop the belt to shawn michaels in his hometown of Canada so vince and shawn planned what would late be known as the montreal screwjob so basically vince,shawn,and bret screwed bret
He didn't "fire" Bret Hart, Bret had already made the choice, signed the contract and everything to go to WCW, Bret had quit, he was working his last 30 days as required by his contract w/ Vince when the whole thing in Montreal happened in '97 It happened mainly b/c Vince was mad at Bret for quitting to go to WCW and partly had to do w/ Bret not wanting (at first, but eventually he'd agreed) to lose the belt to particularly Shawn Michaels, especially in Canada, b/c they didn't get along at all for real then
He suffered a fatal injury which lead to a concussion in a match with goldberg on WCW.. This carrer-ending injury lead to his retirement,a few weeks later..
wcw
I dont remember it was the early days of WCW somewhere between The Wild Samoans and Bret Hart around that generation
the story is quite simple. you see Eric bishoff the wcw general manager at the time wanted Bret to join wcw as part of a heel group called the NWO. vince was afraid that Bret would take the WWF championship with him but i have recently read brets biography at wikipedia.com at it says Bret told vince backstage '' vince don't worry I WILL NOT be taking the wwf title to wcw even though Eric keeps saying i should, i kust wanna with here tonight in Montreal because this is my home country and i will lose the next night on raw before i leave'' Bret was obviously gonna leave to wcw no matter what. vince however just for some strange reason he refused to believe Bret so he made this stupid and sad plan to screw Bret without Bret finding out the details he spoke privately to HBK and asked him to screw Bret by putting him in sharp shooter thus earl the ref would ring the bell though Bret never tapped. i believe that hbk did not wanna screw Bret but instead vince munipulated hbk with threat of firing him
Bret Hart is currently retired and is not an active wrestler. He retired in the year 2000 and has been away from the ring ever since as an active competitor. While he was a wrestler, he was billed at a weight of 234 pounds and a height of 6 ft 1 inches. He is a former WWE and WCW Champion and has held many titles in both promotions.
First of all, Owen Hart wasn't pushed off a rafter. A mechanical error on the harness supporting him caused him to fall. Second of all, Owen Hart never wrestled in WCW; he wrestled in WWE.
They claim that Goldberg was 173-0 before losing the WCW title to Kevin "Big Sexy" Nash
