An "I Quit" Match is a professional Wrestling match in which the only way to win is to make the opponent say the words "I Quit". This type of match is usually used to settle a major storyline grudge or when a wrestler has been extremely embarrased by another wrestler.
Starcade '85: The Gathering which took place on November 28, 1995 was were the "I Quit" match made its debut. This was a steel cage match between Magnum T.A. and Tully Blanchard for the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship. This match was won by Magnum T.A. and he walked with the title.
There has been 10 I quit Matches in WWF/WWE, 5 in WCW, 4 in ECW, 2 in NWA and 3 in Ring of Honor.
