Bugner was 31 when he defeated Henry Cooper for the British, European Boxing Union, and Commonwealth heavyweight titles in March, 1971. He lost the titles to Jack Bodell in September, 1971. He regained the EBU title when he defeated Jurgen Blin in October, 1972 (age 32). He won the Australia heavyweight title in 1995 when he defeated Vince Cervi (age 45). And finally, he won the World Boxing Federation heavyweight title when he defeated James 'Bonecrusher' Smith in 1998 at the age of 48.
