In high school and college, Dan Gable was 181-0 going into his final match where he lost 13-11 in dramatic fashion to University of Washington sophomore Larry Owings. This loss was probably the impetus for his 1972 Olympic Gold Medal win. He only lost one point in the 1972 Olympic Trials & Games combined. The lone point surrendered to none other than Owings in the Trials.
