There are not many karate schools in China. The government there promotes Wushu. Karate is Japanese and the history between the two countries is not good.
That will depend on the school and style of karate. Some schools do not have stripes and simply go from one solid color to another.
Karate does not use weapons. Many karate schools also teach kobudo, which is the use of weapons, and have failed to keep the distinction between the two arts.
As far as I know (from listening in karate class) martial arts started in China and were brought to Japan along with calligraphy and art. However, the stereotypical, "karate" (there are many many different forms) was "invented" in Japan.
There are over 120 English language schools alone in China. Thats not to mention all of the other language schools that they offer. You can find these schools in the largest cities in China.
