He would have stayed at his best, had he not been so overconfident in his ability to memorize his opponent's patterns. One of the factoids about Muhamad Ali; he was an extreme fast learner with a photographic memory, when he was a little kid in grade school he turned in nothing but A's, often getting his homework down in minutes.
