The Miami Hurricanes proudly boast an impressive 58-game winning streak at home. The streak spanned nine seasons and has remained uncontested since its inclusion into the NCAA record books.
Note: The NCAA observes "home winning streaks" as a particular team's unbroken series of winning on that particular team's home field. With regards to winning streaks, to include home winning streaks, the NCAA does not differentiate a regular season loss from a postseason loss; moreover, the NCAA does not discriminate a regular season win from a postseason win. In accordance with this standard, the NCAA recognizes the Miami Hurricanes as possessor of such a record, in consideration of three Orange Bowl victories, which sets the record of home winning streaks at 58.

Had the inquirer asked about the longest "regular season" home winning streaks, a mention of Boise State would be prudent. In this case, however, a distinction between such variables is unnecessary. If one wants to mention Boise State's "regular season" home winning streaks, why not mention the longest home winning streaks for games played at night? How about we include the longest home winning streaks for teams that played before a sellout crowd? Can we not just observe an objective standard and answer in accordance with that standard?
