with a wildcard game
i think that they will have an update to add that to the game.
Most leauges have a cutoff date of eligibility. For example, Major league Baseball players must be on their team's roster by September 1st in order to be considered for the playoffs. Players added after that date would only be eligible in case of a rash of injuries, which of course no one would wish for.
It depends on what you want to add, what you plan to do with it, and more.
Argentine Brazil Italy and that's all I know. There are more. Feel free to add.

Depends on if they are professional or amateur. There are over 800 professional sports teams that are measured by www.qlobal.com. There are probably just as many or more professional teams out there that arent measured. There must be hundreds of millions of amateur teams out there. Just as an example there are approx 200 million soccer players registered in the world. A minimum of 11 players to a team means there are approx 18 million teams -just for soccer! Add to that cricket, basketball etc etc and the number would be very very big!
