Topps created the refractor sets, and also releases the Refractor cards under the Bowman name, which Topps owns. In 1956 Topps purchased the Bowman company and ended their rivalry in the sports card market. In 1989, Topps once again began production of cards with the Bowman name.
newtest3... $15,000
It depends on which year and company, as well as if it's a parallel or insert card. The card also would need to be in good condition, free of creases and with sharp corners. Wes' most valuable card is probably the 1994 Topps Finest refractor card worth around $8.
$4.00-$8.00
1993 Topps Finest Refractor #1. This card is limited to 241 copies and was the first use of refractor technology. At one time booked as high as $200, book value as of November 2010 is $125. A graded Gem Mint copy has sold for over $600. There are also several "too scarce to price" cards out there which may sell for more than his 1993 Finest Refractor. Two such cards of note are the 2005 Upper Deck ESPN Ink Autograph (limited to 5 copies) and the 2008 Topps Sterling Jumbo Patch card (1 of 1 - though several variations exist). Both of these cards sold for over $200 when they first came out, expect to pay between $100-150 each for them now.
Less than 15 cents.
The 1996 Topps Mantle Finest Refractors reads on the back: "Mickey Mantle Commemorative set card # of 19" it also has a copyright 1996 the Topps company inc. The other 1996 Topps cards have a set logo on the front. The 1991 Topps Archives reads archives on the back.
O-Pee-Chee - ToppsThe difference is the O-Pee-Chee logo appears on the card as opposed to the Topps logo. They are most well known for the 1952 Topps set, the king of post-war issues. Today, Topps still dominates the market, with Topps Chrome, Topps Finest, and Bowman Chrome issues.
