A sealed set (Factory set) would be worth more than a set that is opened or a set that was put together by hand. As far as selling a sealed set, opposed to selling the cards individually do the math. In most cases the value of the individual cards will be more than the value of the complete set, but depending on the demand for the individual cards it might be difficult to sell all of them, and it will take more time and effort. If this is an issue it will be of benefit to you to sell them as a sealed factory set for less money. Check eBay to see how much money the set is selling for. Also check the key cards (most in demand) from the set, and see what they are selling for. Compare the value of the sealed set to the value of the key cards. The difference will be your ability to sell the commons and for how much.
