Wow, is this a ticket stub from the first game ever played at Yankee Stadium? I don't know the real value, but the value of a 1923 World Series stub from Yankee Stadium is anywhere between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars, depending on condition.

The 1939 World Series featured the New York Yankees beating the Cincinnati Reds four games to none. A 1939 New York Yankees World Series Full ticket played at Yankee Stadium is worth about $400. -$450.and a ticket stub (Rain Check) about $150.-$225. A 1939 Cincinnati Reds World Series Full ticket played at Crosley Field is worth about $350. -$400. A ticket stub sells for about $150.-$250.

Condition is important. The slightest flaws could bring the price down significantly. Common flaws include; rips, creases, stains, and fading. Ticket stubs that are not ripped cleanly will also sell for less.

Milestone Ticket StubsA rain check is the part of the ticket that is considered a Stub after it is torn from the full ticket. The remaining portion of a ticket ripped off when attending a game. A rain check. Not as valuable as a Full Ticket, but still collectible.

Vintage baseball ticket stubs (Rain Check) for all teams from this era in general are worth about $25.-$35. Condition is important. Rips, crease, stains and fading could bring the price down significantly. With ticket stubs if the stub was not torn cleanly it will effect the price as will if the stub was stapled to a program (holes) which was a common practice.

Ticket stubs from baseball games that feature special events or player milestones are highly sought after by collectors. Special events such as opening day, inaugural games, last game at a Stadium, play-offs, World Series, etc. Player milestones can include 500 home runs, 300 win, or any record breaking event.

There is a large community of collectors that collect tickets stubs of baseball games when a noted player Wins a game (pitcher), or hits a Home Run. Record breaking Players such as Mantle, Mays Aaron, and now players like Alex Rodriguez who have a shot at hitting 600, 700 home runs or more. Tickets/stubs from these games are very desirable, and will bring top dollar if a collector needs this ticket to complete their set.

The 1937 Yankees had ballplayers like Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio. Any ticket stubs from a game when these players hit a home run will bring top dollar.

Try to find the box score of the game played on the date your ticket stub is from. Look for a player milestone for a noted player from both the Yankees and the visiting team. For more information on vintage baseball ticket stubs see Related Links below
