I have heard that a PSA MT 10 sold for $120,000. and there are only three known examples in that condition but I can't verify this. I have seen many fakes trying to be sold, and most are caught before big money is spent.

Topps issued Mickey Mantle's first card in 1952 but, the card would reflect stats from the 1951 season. The 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Rookie card number 311 has a book value of about $30,000.00 in Near Mint-Mint condition and $8,000.00 - $17,000.00 in Very Good condition - Excellent condition.

The sports card pricing trend keeps on changing and to keep a tap of the changing trend, you may refer to an online price guide or magazine. For print guides, Beckett and Tuff Stuff are popular amongst the collectors.
