What is the origin of Hanna batrite bats?

Hanna Batrite bats were manufactured by Hanna Manufacturing Company in Athens, Georgia, from the early 1900's until the late 1970's. Most bats were made of Southern white ash. Later models have fiberglass dipped handles for improved strength. This was a Hanna innovation at the time.
