The best inscription for a signed Baseball would vary depending on the popularity of the player that signed the baseball. The rarity of the inscription signed by the player will factor into which inscription is best, as well as the importance of the accomplishment inscribed or the relationship of the inscription to the player.

For example: Don Larsen inscribes the majority of his baseballs relating to the World Series Perfect game. "PG 10 -8 - 56" or "56 WS MVP" Very common they all sell for about $50.-$60., and baseballs not inscribed sell for less. If he were to sign an inscription "The Perfect Game Man" this would be very rare and would most likely sell for more money.

A Mickey Mantle single signed baseball is worth about $500.-$800. Mickey Mantle inscriptions like "536 HR" "HOF 74" "No 7" are pretty common and sell in the $800.-$1,000. price range, while the less common "The Mick" inscription will sell even higher. The rarely found inscription "The Commerce Comet" will at least double the price or more as it did in a 2006 auction selling for $3,252. another rare inscription "No. 6 1951" sold for $3,157. You will have a hard time finding another.
