Jay Publishing Inc. was a subsidiary of Big League Books, Inc of New Canaan, CT, both of which were owned by John Jackson, Jr. (hence the "Jay" in Jay Publishing.)

They produced 5x7 black & white Baseball, Football & Hockey photos from 1955 until John's death in an American Airlines plane crash in the fall of 1965.

The photos were sold by team, 12 to a pack and could be ordered from the company, purchased at the ballpark and were even available in Grocery stores and at newsstands.

Corrections: Big League Books was a subsidiary of Jay Publishing Co., Inc. Jay Publishing Co. offices were at 114 E. 40th St., New York, NY. Direct mail was done from New Canaan, CT. The owner was John E. Jackson, Sr.
