When it came out in 1990, the suggested retail price was around $15. Because of the popularity and scarcity of this set of cards, it now is extremely hard to find in a complete set and if found, it usually sells in the $75 and higher level. Many sets have been broken and sold separately. This set is now nearly 25 years old and there aren't many card sets that contain Negro League themes and in this quality level. Many other sets are grainy old B&W photos and this set contains high quality water color portraits and also has a well written Bio of each player. I have many sets in my collection.
