SGC - Short for Sportscard Guaranty Corporation, is a professional sports card grading company.
It all depends on the grading and what company you had it graded from. The condition, population, and what company the card is graded from will determine the value of any baseball card.
It is very rare that grading a sports card decreases its value. Grading not only protects the card from possible damages, it also authenticates the originality of the card. BGS and PSA are most trusted sports card grading service provider, and the grade you receive from them will determine if your card is worth more or less.
To determine the value and authenticity of graded magic cards, you can look at the grading company's reputation, the condition of the card, and the grading label on the card holder. Authenticity can be confirmed through the grading company's certification process and by comparing the card to known authentic versions. The value of a graded magic card is influenced by factors such as rarity, condition, and demand in the market.
Grading a Baseball card is just a process of evaluating the condition of the cards and assigning a numerical grade according to the result of the evaluation. It is not easy to grade them. You have to check the sharpness of the corners, centering of the printing, coloring, overall appearance, and if the card has any creases, rips, or staining. Beckett Grading Services and PSA Card Grading is the most reliable third party grading service providers.
The best grade is 10 pristine. I do not know what card grading company is the most trusted though, 10 pristine is a grade given by BGS (Beckett Grading System).
PSAA grading appears to be a phony company. I purchased a card graded by PSAA on eBay. It turned out to be a computer printout glued onto a World Wrestling Federation trading card. PSAA is a scam, don't buy anything from them.
Grading a Magic the Gathering card is just a process of evaluating the condition of the cards and assigning a numerical grade according to the result of the evaluation. It is not easy to grade them. You have to check the sharpness of the corners, centering of the printing, coloring, overall appearance, and if the card has any creases, rips, or staining. Beckett Grading Services and PSA Card Grading is the most reliable third party grading service providers.
PSA and Beckett are the two sports card grading companies I trust and believe to be two of the best.
Either way you pay for someone to fill out a checklist with some degree of subjectivity, and add up the checks to get a score. You can pay $17/card for the "established" PSA, or $2 for a newer GMA. By the way, there's a rumor that someone can tell GMA what to grade to use. Someone is not reading closely enough - this is simply not true. GMA will act as a service provider to an independent grading company by encasing cards with that company's grade/logo. But if the card bares the GMA logo, it is independently graded.
A logo of the company that issued the card will place their company logo on the card. Sometimes the team logo of the player on the card will be featured as well.
