Hawk-Eye is a state-of-the art processing technology to accurately identify the center of a tennis ball in five cameras positioned around the court. Combining the information from each of these cameras together, we are able to work out the accurate three-dimensional trajectory of the ball throughout the rally and thereby accurately work out the position where the ball bounces to within three millimeters.

they watch their particular lines, so that if a tennis court doesnt have hawk eye (but most tennis tourney grand stadiums have hawk eye, and they use both linesmen and hawk eye)- they can determine whether the ball is in or out, to make the game as fair as possible.

It can tell if a ball is out or in, if we cant tell where it exactly bounced or it s just on the line.
The only real glitch in the technology used in tennis is that hawk-eye ball tracking does not always get the calls right if a player makes a challenge if they think a ball was still in if called out or vice versa.
