North of due east
Sound travels at different speeds in different mediums, but it does not rise or fall. Sound waves move through air, water, and solids, but the direction of sound is determined by the medium it is traveling through, not by rising or falling.
Wherever you live, the Sun basically rises in the East, and sets in the West. There are some variations depending on the season and latitude. In Brisbane, in the summer there, the Sun will rise in the South East. In the winter it will rise in the North East.
the East
The Sun rises in the East. Depending on your location, the precise direction of sunrise may be a little north of east.
To the east from where sun rise
It rises from the east.
Ursa Minor or the Little Dipper does not rise. It stays in the same position in the sky all year but rotates around the North Star. For a constellation to "rise" it must spend some of its time below the horizon. Ursa Minor does not.
Earth's orbit is counter-clockwise when viewed from the north, as is earth's rotation on its axis. Putting it another way, the earth rotates from west toward the east; that is why the sun appears to rise in the east.
In general the sun appears to rise from an easterly diection. Obviously because of the tilt of the Earth the exact direction appears slightly different everyday of the year and the location at which the person stands on the Earth. On two days of the year, the Equinoxes, the sun appears to rise in the East and set on the West for everybody.
