I have heard some pretty heated debates on this, people get rather upset over it! I've used one, and I think it's great, but I'm biased, and not a serious boater. It's loud, crude, and rude, but bulletproof, great on gas, and oh yeah, dirt cheap. There is absolutely no better deal out there. Better engine, yes, deal, no. It's not a lawnmower engine on a stick, but it's in the ballpark. A little quieter than that. Really scoots a small skiff or Jon boat. I stuck mine on my canoe (w/transom) and it was like a suicide cigarette boat. Awesome fun.
