β 15y agoI have a bad cylinder on my mercury outboard 200 h.p. can I just replace the bad cyliner without rebuilding the entire outboard.
The dry weight of a 1988 model, 115 hp Mercury outboard is 312 lbs.
A 65 hp Mercury outboard, SN 6315551 would be a 1976 year model.
199 lbs. for the 4 cylinder classic
In addition to the engine serial number, the horsepower rating is needed to determine the year model for a Mercury outboard.
If your engine is a 4 cylinder model, it is a 1985. If it is a 3 cylinder model, it is a 1986.
No as all the inline 6 cylinder motors are a 2:1 ration and all the small inline 4 cylinder are 2:3:1 ratio

125 HP. 130 HP and above are V6s.
The in-line 4 cylinder, 50 hp Mercury outboard requires a 50:1 ratio, one pint of 2 cycle oil, to six gallons of fuel.
The 3 cylinder model Mercury 90, uses a NGK BUHW-2, or Champion L78V. The 6 cylinder model, takes a NGK BUHW, or a Champion L76V.
