Why is repect important for a sports leader?

it is important because you dont want to be known by refs as a dirty player. and you are representing your achool and you dont want your school to be knwon as a dirty sportmanship school. especialy in Basketball it is important to keep goood sportmanship because as soon as you start playing sirty the ref wil call everything on you.

It shows character to other people. You'll find that if you are respectful and a good sport and have good character your more likely to be reconized by someone. If you are planning on trying to get a scholarship in a sport then character means a lot, so just make sure you're being respectful and don't cheat!
