When serving overhand the tape protects the fingers and hand from being stung when slapping the Volleyball during the serve.
umm.no that's not all the reason.most of the time when people tape fingers they have jamed them doin somethin else or even jamed it passing no tellin but its not for the serve...

∙ 9y agoFootball is by nature a dangerous sport. There is a lot of contact and risk for injury involved during a game. To prevent breaking fingers players often tape them before the game. Some players will tape their fingers to be used for signal calling during the game as well.
