The leaders of Mecca wanted to keep polytheism because it was deeply ingrained in the cultural and religious practices of the region. Polytheism allowed for a diverse array of deities to be worshipped, catering to different tribes and groups within Mecca. Additionally, the economic prosperity of Mecca was closely tied to the pilgrimage and trade associated with the various idols housed in the Kaaba, making polytheism a lucrative business for the city's leaders.
the leaders of mecca did not want islam and forced Muslims and and made business sanctions for them and forced them to live out of city with no food and business and tried to keep isolated from people of mecca.
Simply because they rejected His message, this happened to many Messengers before Muhammad PBUH.
It is not true. Many early Muslim leaders lived in cities and in homes (e.g. Medina, Mecca, and other cities). However, all these cities and towns are surrounded by deserts as the geography of the country.
Make a pilgrimage to Mecca, or travel to the mosque in Mecca once in their lives. It is required if you are a Muslim and Mecca to Muslims is very holy.
well...... if you want to explain it then... "Polytheism is a religious belief that there is more than one diety"(God/Goddess) but, if it is for vocabulary review then..... "Some religions that are based on polytheism are Hinduism,Shinto,(religion of Japan)and the Egyptian religion."
Because the leaders want to keep society in line. They do not want the present to imitate what happend to the previous generation.
i want to go in mecca for serving pligirms as a khadim
political leaders of mecca did not want Muhammad (PBUH) and Islam and considered Islam a danger for their power and government and controlling people. they had 360 deities in Kaaba and prayed them and all people in Arabia came there and prayed deities as Gods and this had many income for leaders of mecca. when prophet said there is no God but Allah they feeled danger for their income and power so made sanctions for Muslims and made them under pressure and bothered them to they decided to Immigrate to Medina.
Preserving Religious Plurality: Abu Sufyan and the Meccan Leaders opposed Mohammed because the religious plurality permitted in Mecca was critical for maintaining Mecca's important position along the Arabian trade routes. It was on account of the fact that Mecca was holy site for all Arabian faiths that spared it from internal conflict and allowed the flourishing of commerce in the city. Mohammed made clear that he intended to purge the idols from the Kaaba which would cause mass uproar and ended Mecca's position as a holy site for all Arabians.Of course, what Abu Sufyan and the Meccan Leaders did not take into account is that nearly all Arabians would convert to Islam after the fall of Mecca.Keeping His Own Power: Abu Sufyan was one of the Chief Leaders of the Qoreish Tribe and one of the most powerful men in all of Arabia. Should Mecca fall to the Muslims, he would certainly lose substantial power. Many Muslims hold that he was corrupt as well, meaning that he stood to face criminal acts if he were subject to Mohammed's authority.Protecting Commerce: During Mohammed's Medinan Period, Mohammed organized and executed numerous raids on caravans heading to and leaving from Mecca, causing disruption to Arabian trade routes. Since Abu Sufyan and the Meccan Leaders were in charge of Mecca, this was something they would be expected to ameliorate.Polytheism: It was likely that Abu Sufyan and the Meccan Leaders were fighting in defense of Arabian henotheist religions to which they ascribed against Mohammed who would demand that he abandon all gods but Allah.
Mecca
Suleiman probably wanted to include Medina and Mecca in his empire because they were Muslim holy cities.
